Yonder LLC, a DNA art company, has added the option of gifting someone their very own personalized DNA portrait based on their unique DNA. Now anyone can send the gift of a DNA portrait by visiting Yonder’s website and selecting a Gift Certificate or a Gift Wrapped Yonder DNA Collection Kit (see below for kit description). Each Yonder DNA portrait displays a pattern of DNA that is unique to the individual receiving the gift. As an option, Yonder can combine a DNA image with a photograph supplied by the individual to include in their DNA portrait.
“Many of Yonder’s customers were calling in to purchase DNA portraits as gifts for their family, friends and colleagues,” said Lola Murci, Yonder Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “We wanted to make it easy for our customers to give DNA art as a personalized gift, so we added the gift options to our website. You can even add a personal message for the gift recipient.
Yonder also provides Duet and Quad DNA portraits of two or four individual DNA images in one portrait. Duet and Quad DNA portraits can reveal similarities and differences in family DNA --- an interesting way to display your DNA with a spouse, child or significant other. How to Purchase DNA Art as a Gift.
The process begins with a visit to Yonder’s website, www.yonderbiology.com. To buy a gift, customers can select the “Buy a Personalized Gift” link at the bottom of the page by the blue gift box, or choose the “Create DNA Art” selection. Next, customers choose the Yonder Gift Certificate or Gift Wrapped DNA Collection Kit, and provide the gift recipient’s address and a personalized message. Lastly, customers use the secure e-checkout system to complete the order.
After checkout, Yonder mails the Gift Certificate or Gift Wrapped DNA Collection Kit to the gift recipient. The DNA collection kit consists of a sterile cotton swab and a self addressed, stamped envelope. The swab is gently rubbed on the inside of the cheek and returned in the provided envelope. DNA samples are processed in Yonder’s secure, state-of-the-art laboratory in the USA. After lab processing, the digital images are transferred to a computer where the customer’s preferences (colors / photo overlay) are implemented. A digital proof is provided with all orders and allow customers to make any last minute changes. Upon customer approval, the DNA art portrait is printed using high quality digital printing materials, mounted accordingly, and shipped via FedEx.
